Step by Step

Four steps, and one habit worth keeping

The fourth step takes two seconds and is the difference between a five-minute problem and an afternoon of messages.

  1. Open Deposit in your accountOn the site or in the app. You need to be logged in, and the account must be in your own name — that matters at withdrawal time.
  2. Pick a method and amountUPI, PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm or net banking. Minimum is ₹100 on UPI routes and ₹500 through IMPS and net banking.
  3. Approve it in your own appYou are handed to your UPI app to enter your PIN. FairPlay never sees your PIN, and nobody should ever ask you for it.
  4. Screenshot the referenceYour UPI app shows a UTR or reference number. Save it. If anything goes wrong later, that number turns a long investigation into a short one.

Which Route

Six ways in, and when each one makes sense

For nearly everyone the answer is UPI. The others exist for specific situations rather than as genuine alternatives.

Full payment comparison
Deposit methods, minimums and clearing times
MethodMinimumSpeedWhen to use it
UPI / PhonePe / Google Pay₹100SecondsWorks at any hour including bank holidays. The right answer for almost everyone
Paytm₹100SecondsSame UPI rails. Useful if your Paytm balance is where your money already sits
Net banking₹500Usually instantDepends on your bank being up. Some banks run maintenance windows late at night
IMPS₹500Usually instantRuns 24x7, but your bank may charge for it where UPI is free
NEFT₹500Up to 2 hoursSettles in batches. No reason to choose it over UPI unless the amount is large
RTGS₹2,00,000Up to 2 hoursOnly for very large single transfers, and only during banking hours

Bank limits are set by your bank, not by us. Banks apply their own per-transaction and daily UPI caps, and many run maintenance windows late at night. A declined payment is far more often one of those than a problem with your account.

Money Debited, Not Credited

What to do when a deposit does not arrive

This is one situation with five different causes, and the right response is different for each. Find your row before you do anything else.

What you are seeingWhat it meansWhat to doExpect it in

You have a right here, not just a hope. The Reserve Bank's turn-around-time rules require your bank to auto-reverse a failed UPI payment that debited your account, and to compensate you if the reversal runs past the published window. Raise it through your bank or the dispute option in your UPI app, and check the current RBI guidance for the timelines that apply now.

Depositing without ever having a problem

Deposits are the part of a betting account people use most often and think about least. Nearly all of the friction comes from three avoidable things, and none of them is about which method you choose.

Pay from your own account, every single time

The account or UPI ID you pay from has to match your registered name. A transfer from a spouse's account, a parent's account or a friend's phone cannot be credited — it has to be reversed, which involves support and takes days rather than minutes.

This catches people out most often when their own UPI is down and somebody nearby offers to send it instead. That is exactly the moment to wait rather than improvise. The rule exists because withdrawals only ever go back to an account in your name, so money has to enter the same way it leaves.

Never make a second deposit to fix the first

When money leaves your bank and nothing appears, the instinct is to try again. Resist it. If the first payment was merely slow, you now have two deposits and one of them needs reversing. If it genuinely failed, the second is likely to fail the same way for the same reason.

Wait fifteen minutes, check what your UPI app says, and use the table above. Almost every case resolves on its own or with a single message quoting a UTR.

Decide about the bonus before you pay, not after

A bonus attaches at the moment of deposit and generally cannot be applied retrospectively. That makes it a pre-deposit decision, and it is worth two minutes of thought rather than a reflex tick.

If you intend to play through the volume anyway, take it. If you plan to deposit, place a couple of bets on the cricket and withdraw, the wagering requirement will restrict your balance for no benefit and declining is the better call.

Deposit limits are the most useful setting on the site

You can cap how much you deposit per day, week or month in your account settings. The cap applies the moment you set it, and raising it takes a cooling-off period before it takes effect.

That delay is the entire design. A limit you set on a calm afternoon is a different decision from one you would make at 11pm during a match that has gone badly, and the cooling-off period means the calm version wins. Responsible gaming explains the full set, and support can apply one for you in a minute.

Where your money can go next

One deposit funds everything. The same balance covers sports betting and every table in the casino, with no transfer step between them and no second account to fund.

When you want it back out, withdrawals from a verified account normally reach your bank in under ten minutes. Completing verification early — rather than at the moment you first want to cash out — is the single best thing you can do for that experience. Deposits are for account holders aged 18 and over.

FAQ

How long does a FairPlay deposit take?

UPI, PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm all clear within seconds. IMPS and net banking are usually instant too, though they depend on your bank being available. NEFT and RTGS settle in batches and can take up to two hours during banking hours. If a UPI deposit has not appeared after fifteen minutes, that is the point to contact support.

My money was debited but has not arrived. What now?

First check what your UPI app says. If it shows Failed, the payment did not complete and your bank should reverse it automatically — under the RBI's turn-around-time rules that is normally within one working day, and delays beyond the published window attract compensation from the bank. If your app shows Success, the money reached us and just needs matching, so send support the UTR and it is usually sorted in minutes. Either way, do not make a second deposit while the first is being traced.

What is a UTR and where do I find it?

The UTR, sometimes shown as an RRN or reference number, is the twelve-digit code your bank or UPI app assigns to a transaction. In Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm it appears on the payment receipt after the transfer. It is the single most useful thing you can give support, because it identifies the exact payment rather than an amount and a rough time.

What is the minimum deposit?

₹100 through UPI, PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm. IMPS, NEFT and net banking start at ₹500 because of how those rails work. RTGS has a much higher floor at ₹2,00,000 and is only worth using for a single large transfer. The applicable minimum is shown on the deposit screen once you pick a method.

Does FairPlay charge a fee for depositing?

No. There is no platform charge on any deposit method. Your own bank may apply its own fee on certain transfer types — IMPS and RTGS sometimes carry one — while UPI transfers are typically free from the bank's side as well. Nothing is deducted from the amount you send.

Why do I have to pay from my own account?

Because withdrawals go back to an account in your name, so money has to come from one too. A payment from a spouse's, parent's or friend's account cannot be credited and has to be reversed, which is slow and needs support involvement. It is also the rule that stops accounts being used to move other people's money.

My deposit keeps getting declined. What is going on?

Usually a limit or a maintenance window at your bank rather than anything on this side. Banks set their own per-transaction and daily UPI caps, and many run scheduled downtime late at night. Try a different UPI app linked to the same account, or a different bank account if you have one. If every route fails, contact support with the times you tried.

How do I claim a deposit bonus?

Select the offer on the deposit screen before you confirm the payment. Bonuses attach at the moment of deposit and generally cannot be added afterwards, so it is a decision to make before paying rather than after. Read the wagering requirement on the bonuses page first — a bonus restricts part of your balance until a turnover is met.
